Our Mission

CAAPS stands for Conference of Asian American Professionals.

CAAPS was founded in August 2016 by local business owners with a passion to make a difference for the business community.

Yes. CAAPS is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. The non-profit EIN is 93-1607036.

The original name for CAAPS was Capital Asian American Professional Society, a 501(c)(6) trade organization. CAAPS created a 501(c)(3) foundation to support our programs and events to accept grants and sponsorship. The original 501(c)(3) organization name was California Asian American Professional Society, also known as the CAAPS Foundation. The board decided to consolidate both organizations to one 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization in 2023 to make managing the organization simpler. The united organization name became Conference of Asian American Professionals, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization designated by the IRS.

No. CAAPS is operated 100% by volunteers. These volunteers serve with a passion to make a difference for the community they live in. Proceeds from our events support our scholarship program.
